Hunting
Zlatibor is a mountain that can boast of excellent conditions for the development of hunting tourism. On the territory of the municipality of Čajetina, the hunting association "Zlatibor" was founded in 1902, which still manages the "Zlatibor" hunting ground, with a total area of 55,767 ha, of which 45,000 are hunting areas. In the hunting grounds, roe deer, wild boar, and small game are managed with rabbit, field partridge, quail, and wild duck. Of the beasts in the hunting grounds, it is dominated by wolves, foxes and jackals, and the bear is present in increasing numbers as a strictly protected species of game. In the following period, the settlement of deer game is planned. The hunting ground has five warm checks, 27 high checks, 64 feeding areas for roe deer, 105 salting areas and 95 feeding areas for small game, 23 feeding areas for wild boar and five feeding areas for bears. The Association owns a hunting lodge with three accommodation units for housing hunters, as well as seven hunting houses located in the hunting grounds.
Every year, for more than 38 years, the association organizes the event "Hunters' Assembly of Serbia" in which guests from our country and abroad participate. During the three days of the Parliament, competitions in hunting shooting, scientific gatherings in the field of hunting, wolf hunting with a drive as well as numerous accompanying contents are organized.
It is possible to organize commercial hunting within the hunting grounds, and the greatest interest is in wolf hunting in the winter period, quail hunting, roe deer and wild boar hunting. For many years, hunters from Serbia and abroad have been interested in commercial hunting, so the Association hosted hunters from the countries of the region, Italy, Hungary and other European countries.
