Special Nature Reserve "Uvac"
The Uvacleži River flows between the northern slopes of Zlatar and the southern branches of Zlatibor. The special value of the canyon parts of the valley are the pinched meanders. The uniqueness of this area is the presence of a very rare and scarce species of vulture - the griffon vulture. In order to protect this species, the area around the gorge of the Uvac river as a habitat for the griffon vulture was declared a Special Nature Reserve.
EXCURSION PROGRAM:
• Departure in the morning from Zlatibor • Drive to Uvački lake for about 60 minutes, arrival at the lake, cruise on tourist boats • Drive along the Uvački lake lasting about 4h and 30min (drive in both directions in the specified time interval, with a short stop to visit the Ice Cave - the only possible approach to the cave is from the lake) • Optional climbing to the viewpoint with a spectacular view of the Uvače meanders • Observation of eagles/griffon vultures and other birds on nests and in flight • We continue our journey towards the village of Bozetići, where we will visit the Dubnica Monastery • Return to Zlatibor, with a break for coffee/lunch at Zlatar • Arrival in Zlatibor in the afternoon
