Traditional New Year's Eve at Kraljevi trg

The traditional New Year's Eve, which is organized on the open stage in Kraljevo trg, is one of the most massive entertainment events in Zlatibor. The New Year's Eve program consists of concerts by some of the most famous performers from the world of music, not only from Serbia but from the entire region. Traditionally, the New Year is greeted at midnight with spectacular fireworks accompanied by a trumpet orchestra. Every year before the start of the concert, children's performances and the distribution of packets and sweets are organized for the youngest. Every year, over 20,000 people welcome the New Year in Zlatibor's King's Square.
The organizer of the event is the Tourist Organization of Zlatibor and the Municipality of Čajetina.
The traditional welcome of the Orthodox New Year

The traditional celebration of the Orthodox New Year is held in front of the church dedicated to the Shroud of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Jablanica. Traditionally, every year a large number of guests attend this event and welcome the Orthodox New Year with a rich cultural and artistic program, trumpet sounds, hot drinks (brandy, mulled wine, tea), hunting stew, boiled cabbage and other Zlatibor specialties prepared on the spot.
The event begins with evening worship and the lighting of the Christmas tree, after which the cultural and artistic program begins, and the night liturgy and New Year's fireworks. The program is also adapted to the youngest, so every year a children's show is organized as well as the distribution of New Year's packets.
The organizers are the Tourist Association and the Local Community of Jablanica with the help of: Tourist Organization Zlatibor, Sports Center Čajetina, Hunting Association Jablanica, in cooperation with the local church, and under the auspices of the Municipality of Čajetina
Fair of dried meat products "Pršutijada"
Time of performance: month of February
Venue: Mačkat village
The dried meat fair - Pršutijada is held every year in the first half of February in the village of Mackatu (about 10 kilometers from Zlatibor). At the fair, you can see, try and buy delicacies such as beef and pork prosciutto, litter, bacon, sausage and other products. This manifestation is of a competitive nature and every year the best Serbian cured meat products are chosen. The village of Mackat is known for a large number of producers of prosciutto, in a traditional way that has been unchanged for hundreds of years, and the village itself is located at an ideal altitude for drying meat.
Every year, a rich cultural and artistic program is organized for visitors, as well as a raffle, the main prize of which is a bag of dried meat products.
The organizer of the event is the Association of Dried Meat Products Producers of the Zlatibor District and Zlatibor Eco-Agrar, under the auspices of the Municipality of Čajetina.
Assembly of hunters of Serbia-Zlatibor

Since 1982, the association of hunters from Čajetina organizes the Assembly of Hunters of Serbia. The Assembly is held every year at the end of February. The event was extremely well attended by both our hunters and hunting enthusiasts from Germany, Slovenia, Austria, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Republika Srpska...
During the three days of the conference, competitions are organized in the disciplines of moving target wolf, stationary target roe deer, clay pigeons, stationary circular target 300 meters and special rifles, powered wolf hunting, scientific gatherings in the field of hunting and numerous accompanying contents. Also, a competition is organized to make the best hunting stew. Hunters and visitors to the Assembly have the opportunity to enjoy tasting Zlatibor specialties, of course accompanied by the inevitable sounds of trumpeters.
Whether the wolf is shot or not, the hunters will gain new friends, experience, and remember a nice gathering at the meeting.
The organizer of the hunting meeting is the "Zlatibor" Hunting Association from Čajetina, which has around 450 members.
Village all-around in Jablanica
Event time: June, the first week after the Trinity holiday Venue: Jablanica village
The village all-around in Jablanica is an event that presents competition in traditional crafts, skills and sports. It is held every year on the first Sunday after the Trinity holiday (June month), lasts for three days and starts with burning tar, on Friday, in the traditional way, lighting a tar can, while the all-around shows and nurtures crafts and skills that are slowly disappearing, which are very colorful and make up the recognizable motif of Zlatibor. The all-day program was completed by the performance of cultural and artistic societies, singing groups and a trumpet orchestra. The participants of the program are of almost all generations, from the youngest, who are willing to preserve the tradition of their ancestors, to the older ones, who have nurtured it for years.
Competitive disciplines organized at Višeboj are: standing long jump, high jump, manual scraping with a hollow saw, shoulder throwing, horse racing, tug of war and towing on a train (pulling logs with oxen).
The event has a competitive spirit, and the organizer is the Tourist Association of Jablanica under the auspices of the Municipality of Čajetina.
Zlatibor cultural summer

Zlatibor's cultural summer consists of a number of different events of a cultural and entertainment character with the aim of a more meaningful and quality stay for guests in Zlatibor, and are held on the summer stage on King's Square, in Tić Polje, Čajetina and villages not far from the tourist center.
The program of the cultural summer consists of various events of a cultural and entertainment character, such as concerts of famous entertainers from the country and the region, concerts of cultural and artistic societies, choirs, classical music, trumpet orchestras, outdoor theater performances, as well as performances for the youngest, various animations for children and adults. Recordings of certain entertainment-music shows, festivals and music competitions are also organized. Various sports competitions are organized in which professional athletes participate, as well as numerous sports meetings for amateurs and those who want to preserve some traditional sports disciplines. The organizers of these manifestations are different entities, but all events are coordinated and promoted by the Tourist Organization as a single program - Zlatibor summer.
In addition, the events make the guests' stay on Zlatibor more meaningful and of higher quality, and meeting the cultural and entertainment needs of the visitors is the main goal of organizing the cultural summer.

St. Peter's Day
Date of event: July 12 Venue: Sirogojno
In Sirogojno on July 12, on St. Peter's Day, the traditional event "St. Peter's Day" is held. The program begins with the morning liturgy in the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. The church was built in 1764, and the founder of the church was Georgije Smiljanić. The greatest value of the temple is the iconostasis, which belongs to the first works of our greatest zograf, Simeun Lazović. After the liturgy, the permanent exhibits in the open-air museum "Staro selo" Sirogojno are visited, where for the purposes of this manifestation, the museum exhibits and the reconstruction of folk customs are being "revived". Namely, the "Staro selo" museum shows the apartment and residential culture of the Zlatibor region from the 19th and 20th centuries. The museum consists of two parts. The first is a group of houses that have preserved their original appearance and purpose, and they make up a permanent museum exhibit formed in two Zlatibor courtyards. The second group consists of houses that have preserved their original appearance, but their purpose has been changed, they have been adapted and adapted to tourist needs. These are the hall, souvenir shop, tavern, apartment buildings. Within the Museum, there are also workshops of old crafts, which are nurtured and revived here. The all-day program is completed by the performance of children's cultural and artistic societies from Sirogojn, singing groups, trumpet orchestra, fiddler, and in the evening, a concert by one of our famous pop artists. All the cultural and artistic program is organized in front of the church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

Assembly of trumpeters and folk art exhibition

The meeting of trumpeters and the exhibition of folk creativity is a traditional cultural and artistic event that nurtures originality, ethnic sound and gathers a large number of guests who respect folk traditions. It is held every year in the second half of July. The best trumpet orchestras of Western Serbia take part in the program of this manifestation, which compete for the prizes of the Assembly as well as for participation in the Assembly of Trumpeters in Guca. Many cultural and artistic societies, flute players, singing groups also perform... During the days of the Assembly, our mountain is visited by tens of thousands of guests, which speaks volumes about its importance and attractiveness, and it is covered by major media companies.
The organizer of the assembly is the Zlatibor Cultural Center, under the auspices of the Municipality of Čajetina.
Ilindan sports meetings
Date of event: August 2 Venue: Gostilje village
Ilindan sports meetings are a manifestation of local character that takes place every year on August 2, on the Orthodox holiday dedicated to St. Elijah, in the Zlatibor village of Gostilje. The event aims to bring together young people from all local communities of the Čajetina municipality every year who compete in various sports disciplines. In addition to tournaments in indoor football and basketball, at sports meetings, competitors also compete in some traditional disciplines such as long jump, shoulder throwing, tug-of-war and tug-of-war. Sports competitions are accompanied by a rich entertainment program. The organizer of the event is the Gostilje Tourist Association, under the auspices of the Municipality of Čajetina.
Trout days
Date of event: beginning of August Venue: Ljubiš village
LJubiš is one of the largest Zlatibor villages and is located 25 kilometers from the center of Zlatibor. Every year, at the beginning of August, an event called "Trout Days" is held in the village of Ljubiš. The goal of this event is to promote the most important brand of this place, which is purple trout, a type of rainbow trout that has a distinctive taste.
The event begins in Ljubiš with a traditional Zlatibor breakfast, and all this is accompanied by a cultural, artistic and musical program. and this manifestation is of a competitive nature, where the expert jury evaluates the best prepared trout. The choice of the winner is influenced by the taste of the trout, the way it is prepared and the appearance of the stand where it is served. After the trout is prepared, it is served free of charge to all visitors to the event.

Summer street air cabaret

The summer street cabaret is an event organized by the "LJubiša R. Đenić" library from Čajetina since 2008, which enriches and complements the cultural events and tourist offer of Zlatibor and Čajetina. The event lasts two days and is held at the beginning of August. On the first day, the program of the event is held on the plateau in front of the Library in Čajetina, and on the second evening, the cabaret is performed on the King's Square in Zlatibor. During both evenings, visitors can enjoy the program of a real cabaret, where performances of the unmissable Bid band from Zrenjanin alternate, theater plays and aphorists, all with an unmissable touch of air humor. Prizes are awarded every year for the best aphorists, winners of the International Competition for the best aphorism. The "LJubiša R. Đenić" Library in cooperation with the Municipality of Čajetina proposed air humor for entry into the National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage. By decision of the National Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Serbia, dated June 18, 2012, it was entered in the Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Serbia at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, under inventory number 15. International Sports Film Festival

The International Sports Film Festival was founded in 2011 by the Municipality of Čajetina, the Zlatibor Tourist Organization and "Maja Film", whose executive organizer is the Zlatibor International Sports Film Festival Association. The goal of the Festival is the promotion of sports through culture and film as the seventh art, and this is precisely why it was accepted as a member of FICTS (Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs) from Milan (Italy) in 2017. FICTS is an organization founded in 1983, recognized by the International Olympic Committee and chaired by prof. Dr. Franco Askani (member of the Commission for Culture and Heritage of the IOC). Through the slogan "FICTS is culture through sport", all members are obliged to promote the social and cultural value of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, combining sport with culture, with the aim of spreading a philosophy of living based on the values of tolerance, ethics, respect, self-discipline, friendship, solidarity, peace and fair play. Every year, the films that are winners at the Zlatibor Festival are shown at the final "Sport movies & TV International FICTS Fest" festival in Milan, which is organized in November.
The festival is conceived as a kind of combination of art, sport and creators from those two fields, it gathers filmmakers as well as distinguished athletes from the country and abroad and has a competitive nature in the categories of documentary and feature films from all over the world with the theme of sports.
In addition to the film awards for the authors of the films, the organizers of the festival annually award Lifetime Achievement Awards to successful athletes and a special "Nataša Kovačević" Heroine of Sports and Life Charter, which is awarded to para-athletes for their achievements in para-sports. Some of the award winners from previous years are: Dragan DŽajić, Janica Kostelić, Dino Radja, Razija Mujanović, Željko Obradović, Svetlana Ceca Kitić, Ivan Golac, Ivan Gudelj, Dragoslav Šekularac, Dragan Kićanović, Veselin Jevrosimović, Vesna Čitaković, Dušan Duda Ivković, Dobrivoje Tanasijević Den Tana, Bogdan Tanjević, Borislav Bora Stanković, Vera Nikolić, Vladimir Cvetković, prof. The festival is held every year on the penultimate weekend in August at the Cultural Center in Zlatibor. The organizer is the association "International Sports Film Festival Zlatibor", Municipality of Čajetina and Tourist Organization Zlatibor.
Domestic brandy fair "Rakijada"
Time of performance: month of September
Venue: the village of Šljivovica
The homemade brandy fair, better known as "Rakijada", is traditionally held every year in the Zlatibor village of Šljivovica. "Rakijada" is an economic-tourist manifestation that aims to present the traditional way of producing plum brandy, which has been produced in this village for centuries. In addition to the competitive part in which the winners of the "Rakijade" are announced in various categories, this manifestation has a fun and exhibition-sales character, and every year visitors have the opportunity to see what the traditional process of "roasting" brandy in a Čučavac cauldron looks like.
The event has a regional character and gathers dozens of exhibitors and several thousand visitors every year.
The organizer of the event is the Association of Domestic Brandy Producers of the Zlatibor District, under the auspices of the Municipality of Čajetina.
Poetic fires of Zlatibor
The "Poetry Fire of Zlatibor" event is a cultural event that contributes to the establishment of direct international cultural cooperation in the field of literary creativity. Every year, this manifestation is dedicated to one of the important domestic and international poets. It is organized in cooperation with the Association of Writers of Serbia and the Cultural and Educational Community, at the time of the International Meeting of Writers. In addition to local poets, poets from abroad, our distinguished actors and opera singers also participate in the program. At the end of the program, the Zlatibor poetry evening is decorated with a big bonfire on Šumatni brdo near the monument, which is lit every year by the winner of the Zlatibor Poetry Fires Charter. The organizer is the association "International Sports Film Festival Zlatibor", Municipality of Čajetina and Tourist Organization Zlatibor.
There is no water without a source
The assembly "There is no water without a source" is traditionally held in the Zlatibor village of Rožanstva (about 15 kilometers from Zlatibor) every year on August 19, on the Transfiguration. This Assembly is of a competitive nature and only original folk singing (singing "from the shout") is nurtured and performed in the categories of male, female, mixed singing groups and singing in pairs. This type of singing, singing from "the shout", is characteristic of the Zlatibor district and is on the list of intangible cultural heritage of Serbia. The lyrics of the songs recorded in this area are classified into songs for women's and men's affairs, wedding and wedding songs, songs about the homeland, celebratory and love songs. Songs were sung on almost all occasions, at parties, mobs, prelims, without any special occasion during a chance meeting. In our region, these songs are still performed and cherished at ceremonies, celebrations, during mowing, brandy roasting and other activities. A rich additional cultural and artistic series is organized for visitors, where in addition to singers of original folk songs, cultural and artistic societies, flute players and cheerleaders also perform. Every year on that day, the day of the village is celebrated and awards are given for the best provider of beds in the village and the award for the most decorated village yard. The organizer of the event is the Society for Culture, Tourism and Sports "Zmajevac", under the auspices of the Municipality of Čajetina and the Zlatibor Tourist Organization.
Art colony Trnava
Art Colony "Trnava" (Art Colony "Trnava-Vladimir Mitrović") is a traditional cultural manifestation that has been held for more than two decades in the month of August in the town of Trnava, 27 kilometers away from the center of Zlatibor. The colony was founded in 1998 in the painting workshop of the now deceased naive Serbian painter and sculptor Vladimir Mitrović.
The colony is held in the household and studio of self-taught artist Vladimir Mitrović and gathers artists from all over the country. As a regional manifestation in the tourist offer of Zlatibor, the colony was formed with the aim that artistic creativity, in addition to numerous other contents, finds full value as part of Serbia's anthropogenic heritage. Thus, the art colony in Trnava, like most similar art manifestations, became meaningfully connected with the landscapes and other natural beauties of the Zlatibor region, which has always been the inspiration of numerous artists.
A colony that includes the current achievements of painting and sculpture (in the year of its maintenance), it bases its activities on the creation of new works of art with motifs from the environment, meetings of fine art artists, meetings of artists with art historians, art critics and other fans of fine art. The organizers of the colony are the Mitrović family, the Zlatibir Cultural Center, the Zlatibor Tourist Organization and the Municipality of Čajetina.
